THE TRIPOLI Photo Corps was established in 1963 by the then Potentate Lester H. Ness to fill the need for a number of photographers to be available to take pictures of Temple activities and to take on a variety of photographic chores for Tripoli.

Membership of the Unit includes press, commercial and industrial photographers as well as portrait, science and wed- ding photographers. Amateur photographers with proven skills are also accepted.

Tripoli Photo Corps Regular assignments are given to the members. In one year's time, a member may have taken part in the photo- graphic coverage of Ceremonials, Shrine Circus, Midwest Shrine Football Game, Wisconsin High School All-Star Shrine Bowl Game, Tripoli Pilgrimages, Imperial and Great Lakes Shrine Assn. Sessions, Visitations to Tripoli Temple by Impe- rial Officers, Stated Meetings, Unit and Shrine Club Meetings, Booster Luncheons, and Salvation Army Bell Ringing.

The Corps has also produced sound-slide films on the Circus and Shrine Bowl Game. They are available for showings at Shrine Clubs, Lodges and other groups.

The Photo Corps meets at the Tripoli Mosque on the first Wednesday night of each month. In addition to the usual transaction of business, the Nobles enjoy lectures and dem- onstrations on various phases of photography. Field trips to photo studios and many social events are also part of Photo Corps activities.
