NOBLES who have been honorably discharged from or are active members of the United States Armed Forces or its Allies are eligible to become members of Tripoli Legion of Honor. Members now number 380. Our slogan is "Service Men in the Service of Tripoli Temple."
The Legion of Honor is the largest Unit in Tripoli Temple. The marching group is made upof uniformed Legionobles who carry 50 American flags in Shrine parades. They also carry the Potentate's flag in all parades at the Shrine Circus. The group acts as escorts during Ceremonials and furnishes a Guard of Honor, when requested. Outside the Temple, the uniformed Legionobles serve at Masonic installations and special func- tions.
A non-marching segment of the Legion of Honor handles registration at Tripoli Ceremonials and provides chauffeurs for many Shrine and Masonic functions.
The Tripoli Legion of Honor is part of a national organization comprised of 16,000 North American Nobles from more than 100 Shrine Temples. Objectives of the Tripoli Unit are: To bind all eligible ex-servicemen at Tripoli Temple into a single Unit for comradeship. To foster and encourage activities appro- priate for ex-servicemen. To ho Id sacred and to perpetuate the memory of those who have made the supreme sacrifice in the service of their country. To foster a spirit of patriotism and love of country and its flag. To support and assist the illustrious Potentate. To promote and encourage its members to become active at Tripoli.
