In 1956, when Illustrious Sir Noble Carl Garney was Potentate of Tripoli Shrine Temple, the Drum and Bugle Corps was organized. It had been said "There were too many drummers in the marching band, so let's form a drum corps to utilize them". Seventeen members from the band played together as the new D & B Corps for the first time during the December Ceremonial in 1956. The unit grew in popularity and now has 39 members listed in the current roster.

The Corps will field 20 or more parade men at official Shrine functions and local civic parades throughout the year. Monies raised are divided: one-half going to Shrine Hospitals, the other half to a special account for uniforms and parties. Ours is a small, closely knit group dedicated to having fun, working together and always promoting Shrinedom. New members are solicited and welcomed. Help is offered in teaching men to play the various instruments.
